Full neighbourhood file →The city's early-1990s revitalization program renovated the historic downtown core around the 1924 Culver Hotel, and the eastern gallery and studio district was formally designated the Culver City Arts District; the mixed-use Culver Steps plaza added an Erewhon store in spring 2023.
Fox Hills was undeveloped land, riding stables, and golf courses when it was annexed to Culver City in 1964; it was built out with apartments, condominiums, and the Fox Hills Mall (now Westfield Fox Hills) in the 1970s, and its schools were not transferred from LAUSD to Culver City Unified until 1993.
Blair Hills is one of Culver City's officially recognized hillside residential neighborhoods; its namesake Blair Hills Park underwent a community-designed renovation of its two children's play areas, completed in 2019 with a ribbon-cutting led by then-Mayor Meghan Sahli-Wells.
Officially designated Park East, this neighborhood is commonly known by the name of its central Carlson Park, a longtime site of city recreation programs and community club gatherings such as the Culver City Woman's Club picnics.
Officially designated Park West and also known as Veterans Park, this neighborhood is home to the Veterans Memorial Building, a city landmark used for public meetings and community events.
The Jefferson neighborhood takes its name from Jefferson Boulevard, which ran through the former MGM studio backlot (Lot 3); after the backlot and the adjoining RKO Forty Acres property were sold and razed in the 1960s-70s, the land was redeveloped into the Hayden Tract industrial/creative-office district and the Raintree Plaza shopping center.
