The city's early-1990s revitalization program renovated the historic downtown core around the 1924 Culver Hotel, and the eastern gallery and studio district was formally designated the Culver City Arts District; the mixed-use Culver Steps plaza added an Erewhon store in spring 2023.
NeighbourhoodFox Hills
Fox Hills was undeveloped land, riding stables, and golf courses when it was annexed to Culver City in 1964; it was built out with apartments, condominiums, and the Fox Hills Mall (now Westfield Fox Hills) in the 1970s, and its schools were not transferred from LAUSD to Culver City Unified until 1993.
