Mission San Jose

The California Office of Historic Preservation lists Mission San Jose as California Historical Landmark 334, at Mission Boulevard and Washington Boulevard in Fremont.

Niles

The California Office of Historic Preservation says that in 1856 Jose de Jesus Vallejo built a flour mill here on his Rancho Arroyo de la Alameda, and that Niles was once called Vallejo Mills.

Ardenwood

The East Bay Regional Park District runs Ardenwood Historic Farm, which it says shows life on a family farm between 1890 and 1930, on the remnants of the estate of George and Clara Patterson, whose family farmed the land for over 100 years from the 1850s.
