Full neighbourhood file →The 20-acre civic complex at Norwalk Boulevard and Imperial Highway holds the 1965 Mid-Century Modern City Hall by Kistner, Wright and Wright, the city's iconic water tower, and the 1870 Sproul House and 1891 Hargitt House Victorians.
South Norwalk's Carmenita area is largely built out with homes from 1940 to 1969, giving it an older, mid-century housing profile than the tracts further north.
A north Norwalk residential area developed in the postwar decades, part of the buildout that pushed the city past 90,000 residents ahead of its 1957 incorporation.
